Ted helped to set a then-world record for speed. Most fittingly, it was Fr. Ted always knew when we needed a friend. Theodore Cardinal McCarrick said that devotion to faith extended to and included his love for the University of Notre Dame.
Ted himself, with the playing of a pre-recorded message of blessing. For those who knew his voice well, and even for those in attendance who heard his voice for the first time, the ultimate tribute was to hear him perform one final act in the role he aspired to and lived out so well - that of priest. And may the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the very palm of his hand. Please heed the signs and portage where marked. If signage and buoys are NOT present, the barrier is not operational, and paddlers can pass without portaging. The upper part of the water trail the first 7 miles makes its way through five lakes before narrowing into a creek. May the Road Rise Up to Meet You - the story behind the traditional Irish blessing
Water speed increases in this section of the creek. Paddlers should expect to navigate through culverts and around some rocks and fallen trees.
Fallen Trees and Other Obstacles Paddlers should be prepared to navigate around fallen trees and rocks, and through culverts. First-time visitors should consider scouting road crossing before paddling.
Trees obstructing passage completely should be reported to the appropriate county for future maintenance. Work will be completed based on maintenance staff availability. In some cases, county staff may need to wait until water levels fall to safely remove the obstruction. As water levels rise, the speed of the water increases making the paddle more difficult and technical.
